Wolf range model families
Wolf ranges are freestanding pro cookers with their own oven, on three platforms — the first thing to identify in any Wolf range repair. Dual Fuel (DF) pairs a gas cooktop with an electric convection oven: DF30450 (30″), DF36650 and DF36450G (36″), DF48850 (48″) and DF60650F (60″). Gas (GR) is all-gas: GR304, GR366, GR488 and the 60-inch GR606CG and GR606DG. Induction (IR) adds a touchscreen over an induction surface: IR30450/S/T and IR36550/S/P. The number encodes the width; trailing letters mark a griddle, charbroiler, French top or finish.
What the technology means for service
A Wolf range runs dual-stacked sealed burners (around 20,000 Btu upper, near 300 Btu simmer), Dual VertiCross convection, an in-oven infrared broiler, an optional infrared charbroiler and griddle on the wider models, Gourmet Mode presets and a temperature probe, with ten cooking modes. The DF and IR electric ovens carry the 01–04 code set and a control board; the GR oven and all gas burners are diagnosed by symptom. Identifying whether you own a DF, GR or IR build — and its width and any griddle or charbroiler module — tells a technician which burner, igniter, element, RTD sensor or board a repair involves.
Reading the model and where to find it
The rating plate is usually behind the storage drawer or on the oven door frame. Record the full model string before booking so the correct burner, igniter, element, sensor or board is matched to your range. Remember the ICB rule: a catalogue ICBDF366 is simply a DF366.
Choosing within the range line
The choice between DF, GR and IR is about how you cook: Dual Fuel keeps the responsive gas cooktop bakers pair with a steady electric oven, all-gas GR gives instant visible flame control throughout, and induction IR heats ferromagnetic cookware directly for the fastest, easiest-to-clean surface. Width is the next decision — 30 inch for most kitchens, 48 and 60 inch for the most surface and an integrated charbroiler or griddle. If your cooker is a cooktop-only surface with no oven beneath, it is an SRT rangetop, covered under rangetop repair instead. Browse comparable units on the range models page.
